EASY SALSA
 

1 tbsp. and 1 tsp. vegetable oil
1/2 c. diced onion
1/2 c. diced green pepper
2 c. canned crushed tomatoes
1 can chopped green chilies
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. hot sauce
1/4 c. thinly sliced green onions (white part only)

In saucepan heat oil over medium heat; add onion and pepper and saute until onion is tender. Reduce heat, add remaining ingredients, except green onion, and let simmer until sauce thickens slightly, 5-6 minutes. Allow to cool and stir in green onion. Refrigerate and serve with white corn tortilla chips.
