GUTTA 
1 1/4 lbs. ground beef
2 lbs. sausage
1 1/2 tsp. sage
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. celery salt
1 bay leaf
2 slices bacon
3 1/2 c. oatmeal
4-5 c. water

Simmer water and spices. Brown ground beef and sausage leaving a little grease and add this to water. Cook this mixture until well blended.

Add oatmeal. Cook and stir oatmeal until very thick and pulls away from pan. It may be necessary to add 1 cup water before oatmeal is fully cooked.

Pour gutta into greased loaf pan and let cool. After cooled, gutta can be sliced into 1/2 inch slices. Fry until brown and crisp. No grease necessary to fry gutta. Good with eggs for breakfast or lunch.
