CABBAGE STEAK 
2 lb. round steak cut into 1 inch strips
2 bag leaves
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. sugar
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 c. cooked rice for serving
1 sm. head cabbage, cut into chunks

Brown meat in large heavy pan. Add spices, bag leaves and soy sauce and simmer 30 minutes. Add raw chunked up cabbage. Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Remove bay leaves and serve over rice. Add more soy sauce at the table if desired.
