1 lb. pork or beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. bias-cut celery
1/2 med. green and red pepper, chopped
1 can bean sprouts, drained
1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. soy sauce
1 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen pea pods; optional
Place all ingredients, except cornstarch, soy sauce, and pea pods in 3 quart glass casserole. Combine cornstarch and soy sauce in small bowl until smooth. Stir into meat mixture. Cover with glass lid or wax paper.
Microwave for 18 minutes on roast. Stir; add pea pods. Recover and continue cooking 6 minutes, on roast, or until meat is fork tender. Stir. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes before serving. 4-6 servings.
