PAN PIZZA
1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1/4 c. soft butter
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten

Mix yeast and sugar into the lukewarm water with a fork. Leave for 10 minutes in a warm place until frothy.

Combine flour and salt. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter until mixture resembles bread crumbs.

Add yeast liquid and beaten egg to flour mixture and stir with wooden spoon to form a dough.

Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-6 minutes. Place in a floured bowl and cover with a towel. Leave in warm place until double in size (about 1 hour).

Turn dough out onto a greased pizza pan or a 9x12 inch baking sheet. Press out to edge of pan with fingers and form a lip around the edge. Top with sauce, cheese and your favorite toppings. Bake at 425 degrees for 18 minutes.
