4 c. flour
1/2 lb. sweet butter
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 oz. whiskey
1/2 pt. heavy sweet cream
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar

Work flour and butter well together by hand. Add all other ingredients and work into a smooth dough. Divide dough into 4 balls and chill overnight. Roll dough out thin and cut into a moon shape or scalloped flower with a cookie cutter.

Dip cookies into beaten egg white and then into chopped walnuts and sugar mixture. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for approximately 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Dough can also be cut into triangles and filled with lakvar, apricot, or walnut filling and rolled to a crescent shape.
