HOMEMADE VANILLA ICE CREAM | |
Read the instructions of your ice cream maker before making this recipe for the first time. 6 cups sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 6 eggs 2 quarts half & half (8 cups) vanilla extract (see below) some milk ice cream maker 2 (10 lb.) bags crushed party ice 1 box rock salt Mix sugar and flour by hand very well. Mix on medium speed of mixer; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Slowly pour 1/2 of the half and half in. Mix about 2 minutes. Add 5 capfuls of vanilla extract or to desired taste. Pour into ice cream freezer and top off with milk until mixture is about 2-inches below top. Add lid and churning paddle. Carefully put in ice cream barrel and insert motor, turn on motor and add ice around sides then use rock salt to freeze the ice. |
