HASH PINWHEELS
2 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/2 c. cold water
2 tbsp. shortening or butter
1 (15 oz.) can roast beef or corned beef hash
1/4 tsp. pepper

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Mix together Bisquick, water and butter to a soft dough. Knead 5 times. Roll to a 12 x 9 inch rectangle. Spread hash evenly to 1/2 inch of edge. Sprinkle with pepper. Roll up. Cut into 1 inch slices. Place on greased pan. Bake 30 minutes or until golden. Serve with cheese sauce on top.

CHEESE SAUCE:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. Bisquick
1/4 tsp. salt & dry mustard
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded

Melt butter over low heat. Blend Bisquick and seasonings. Cook over low heat until smooth and bubbling. Slowly whisk in milk and heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Stir in cheese. Heat over low heat until cheese is melted. Serve over pinwheels. (My daughter loved this at pre-school and asked that I get the "directions" to make it from the cook.)

This is my favorite dish to make with Bisquick. We never get tired of it.

I looked for the pinwheel recipe so I could make an old family recipe. Sprinkle packet of Lipton onion soup mix in 9x13 in pan and pour hot water, according to soup packet. Place pinwheels in pan and bake. Soup soaks up into pinwheels and it is delicious.

I have never had this with cheese sauce, but I am making it tonight with onion soup and cooking it in the cast iron skillet like Mama always made it. Hope it turns out as well as Mamas.
