BREAKFAST APPLE BARS 
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. oil
3 tbsp. honey
1/2 of 6 oz. pkg. mixed dried fruit bits
1/2 c. rolled oats
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. applesauce
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. walnuts, chopped

Spray a 10 x 6 x 2-inch pan with non-stick coating. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together flour, oats, baking soda and cinnamon. Combine oil, applesauce, honey and vanilla. Stir applesauce mixture into flour mixture until combined. Stir in dried fruit and nuts. Transfer to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in the dish on a cooling rack. Cut into bars. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature or in the freezer. Makes 16 bars.
