5 tsp. pepper
1 c. chili powder
1 c. vinegar
Small amount of catsup
Small amount of drippings from brisket

Place pepper, chili powder and vinegar in medium bowl. Fill bowl with warm water (to taste), catsup and drippings. Simmer all ingredients until flavors combine. We usually use a crock pot to keep it hot and dribble on meat when needed.

This simple recipe was used by Ann for many years as she worked for Sam's BBQ in Dallas. She was instrumental in helping her friend, Sam, get started in the BBQ business many years ago. She worked for him behind the cash register as well as cutting meat and prepare side dishes. Since her retirement, many Dallasites miss her cheerful presence at the local "eating joint". She brought much color and personality to Sam's BBQ.
