1 c. shortening
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Cut shortening into flour. Combine eggs and sugar; beat well. Combine milk, vanilla and soda; add alternating with flour mixture to egg mixture. Chill for 1 hour. Roll out on floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out shapes with cookie cutter. Bake on lightly greased baking sheet at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Frost and decorate.
