CHERRY CRUNCH 
1 pkg. Betty Crocker yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter
1 can (1 lb. 4 oz.) cherry pie filling
1 c. chopped walnuts
Optional toppings: cream, whipped cream, ice cream

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut butter into package of cake mix. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. Measure 1 cup mixture and reserve. Press remaining mixture lightly into bottom and halfway up sides of 8 or 9 inch square pan. Bake 5 minutes. Spread cherry pie filling over crust; sprinkle reserved crumb nut mixture over top. Add additional chopped walnuts on top. Bake 45 minutes. Serve warm with cream, whipped cream or ice cream. 9 to 12 servings.
