ESCALLOPED CABBAGE 
1 sm. head cabbage, shredded
2 c. med. white sauce
1 c. grated cheese
1/2 c. crisp bacon bits
1 tsp. salt
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/4 c. bread crumbs
Butter

Shred cabbage and steam about 5 minutes. In a buttered baking dish alternate layers of cabbage, white sauce, green pepper, bacon bits and cheese. Top with bread crumbs. Dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
