FLORENTINES 
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. whipping cream
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. firmly packed golden brown sugar
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
2/3 c. lightly toasted sliced almonds
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. chopped candied peel
2 tbsp. golden raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line large cookie sheets with parchment paper. Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan, cook over medium heat just until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
