AUNT LUCY'S WINE STICKS 
12 well beaten eggs
1 c. Crisco
4 oz. whiskey
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. anise seed
1 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped almonds
4 c. sifted flour

Mix Crisco and sugar together. Add eggs. Add whiskey, baking powder, vanilla, anise seed and salt. Beat well. Add flour, a little at a time. Add almonds. Mix well.

Pour batter into square pans that have been sprayed with Pam. Fill pans less than half full. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Cool and cut cake in half, slice each half into 3/4 inch slices. Place slices in cookie sheet and toast lightly (350 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes). Recipe makes 4 square pans.
