1 c. lentils, cooked
1 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 c. chopped carrots
2 tbsp. ketchup
1 egg white
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. rice bran

Completely drain cooked lentils. In skillet heat oil and stir-fry the vegetables 1 minute. Add water (small amount), cover and simmer for 10 minutes, or until tender. In blender, mix lentils, vegetables, egg white, garlic powder, ketchup and 1/4 cup bran and pepper. Put remaining bran in shallow dish. Shape the mixture into 8 patties about 3" in diameter. Coat each patty with rice bran. In a non-stick skillet or one lightly oiled, saute over medium high heat for about 4 minutes on one side, and 3 minutes on the other. Serve on hamburger bun or English muffin.
