1 can cherry pie filling
1 can CRUSHED pineapple (15 oz.)
1 lg. cake mix (dry)
1 or more cans coconut or frozen coconut
1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
1 1/2 sticks MELTED butter

Grease 13 x 9 inch baking dish generously with butter. Layer ingredients as follows. Pour in cherry pie filling and spread. Pour in pineapple, spreading to distribute evenly over cherry layer. Sprinkle entire cake mix over cherry and pineapple. Sprinkle coconut over dry cake mix. Top with chopped nuts. Pour melted butter over all and spread carefully so that it covers entire top surface. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
