OLD FASHIONED COUNTRY HAM 
1 cured ham

Wash and soak overnight in cold water adding vinegar if desired. Place in lard stand, cover with cold water.

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate

Bring to a rapid boil, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Remove from heat. Wrap with newspaper, old blanket, anything to hold in heat and let stand 24 hours. Remove from water and glaze as follows:

2 tbsp. vinegar
3/4 c. dark Karo
1/4 tbsp. dry mustard
10 whole cloves

Bring to a boil, except cloves put on ham. Decorate with cloves and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
