COMPOTE OF MIXED FRUIT WITH CREME
FRUCHE VANILLA
 
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. white wine
1/2 c. sugar
1 thin slice lemon
2 c. frozen strawberries
2 c. frozen raspberries
1 c. frozen blackberries
1 c. frozen peaches
2 bananas, cut diagonal into 1/2" thick slices

CREME FRAICHE VANILLA:

1/2 c. light sour cream
1/2 c. cream
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

In a large saucepan, simmer together first 4 ingredients for about 5 minutes, or until mixture is syrupy. Discard lemon slice. Add remaining ingredients and simmer mixture an additional 5 minutes. Refrigerate until serving time. Serve with creme fraiche and a faint sprinkling of cinnamon. Serves 6-8.

Note: Actual portions of fruit are not critical. Use about 6 or 7 cups of frozen fruit not packaged in syrup.

Creme Fraiche Vanilla: In a jar, stir together all the ingredients until blended. Allow to stand at room temperature for 3 hours and then refrigerate until serving time. This can be prepared 2 days before serving.
