"LOST BREAD" (FRENCH TOAST) 
4 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sugar
2 c. half & half
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 lg. loaf French bread, sliced into 10 thick pieces

Mix first 6 ingredients well. Soak each slice of bread in mixture and place in pans or large casserole dishes. Pour remaining mixture over bread and allow to soak in refrigerator overnight. When ready to serve, saute in butter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
