MA RICKEY'S CORNBREAD 
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 c. pastry wheat flour (all purpose okay just not as good)
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. shortening
1 (8 oz.) can evaporated milk
2 eggs

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Mix all ingredients well. Pour into greased round layer 9 x 1 1/2 inches or square pan 8 x 8 x 2. Bake until golden brown 20 to 30 minutes.
