FROSTED BROWN SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. finely ground nuts

Cream butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar in medium bowl. Beat in egg and vanilla. Blend in sifted dry ingredients and nuts. Chill dough for 20 minutes or so. Shape into small balls; roll in green sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; press with glass to flatten. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.

Brown Sugar Icing: Boil 1 cup finely packed brown sugar with 1/2 cup cream in medium pan, stirring constantly for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and beat in 1 cup powdered sugar.
