APPLE CREAM CHEESE BARS 
2 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter
3 tbsp. oil
2 2/3 tbsp. cold water
1 egg

FILLING:

6 c. peeled apples, sliced
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. lemon juice
40 caramels
1 c. evaporated milk

TOPPING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. sugar

Combine flour, sugar, and salt; cut in butter and oil. Blend in egg and cold water until pie crust consistency. Roll out and pat into 9 x 13 inch pan.

FILLING: Mix apples, sugar, flour, and lemon juice thoroughly. Place over crust. Combine caramels with milk. Heat until melted. Pour over apples.

TOPPINGS: Beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg with electric beater until creamy. Pour over caramel topping. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake at 325 degrees for 55 minutes.
