1 (6 serving size) pkg. Jello vanilla flavor pudding
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
3 3/4 c. milk
2 1/2 dozen vanilla wafers
2 lg. bananas, sliced
3 egg whites
Dash of salt
1/3 c. sugar

Combine pudding mix, egg yolks, and milk in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to full boil. Remove from heat. Arrange layer of vanilla wafers in bottom of 2 quart baking dish. Add layer of banana slices and of pudding. Continue layering wafers, banana and pudding, ending with pudding. Beat egg whites with salt until foamy. Beat in sugar. Beat until mixture forms peaks. Spoon lightly onto pudding, sealing edges well. Bake at 425 degrees for 5-10 minutes or until meringue is lightly brown. Serve warm or chilled. Makes 12 servings.
