POPCORN BALL SYRUP
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. dark Karo corn syrup
1/3 c. water
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Boil mixture several minutes, then put a drop in cold water. If drop forms a hard, brittle ball, it is ready to pour over popped corn. If it doesn't harden, cook longer and keep testing every few minutes. Once it is ready, butter your hands well and start making popcorn balls. Keep your hands butter, it's easy to get burned.
