COUNTRY BAKED APPLES 
6 Rome or Winesap apples
1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. raisins
1/4 c. red hots
12 tbsp. maple syrup

Core apples most of the way through, but leave the bottom intact. Trim a small slice off the stem end of the apples. Stuff them with a mixture of the brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins and red hots. Place apples in 2 inch deep baking dish and pour about 2 tablespoons maple syrup over each. Bake uncovered in 375 degree oven 35 to 40 minutes or until they are brown and soft. Serve with cream.
