FRIED TWIST CSOROGE (HUNGARY) 
5 egg yolks
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. butter, melted
2 tbsp. whiskey
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix egg yolks and sugar in mixing bowl until smooth. Add cooled butter, whiskey and vanilla. Sift flour and salt together. Add to first mixture, mixing thoroughly. Knead on floured board until smooth and firm enough to roll. Chill about 1 hour. Roll out thin; cut into 4-inch squares with pastry wheel. Cut gash through center of each square; pull one end through and twist.

Fry in deep fat at 380 degrees for about 1 minute. Drain on paper. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
