2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. salad oil
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients; mix well. Reserve 1/2 cup of this mixture and toss it with the walnuts and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside to use as a topping. Then to the original mixing bowl, add the buttermilk, eggs, baking powder and soda. Blend thoroughly. Pour into the greased baking pan and sprinkle the topping over the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until it tests done. Cool slightly and serve warm. Note: This is my favorite coffee cake recipe.
