|SESAME BEEF AND BROCCOLI|
1 lb. round steak or sirloin, sliced across the grain into thin strips
2 tbsp. oil
1 lg. onion, coarsely chopped
3 c. chopped fresh broccoli, briefly blanched or microwaved to set color and tenderize
1 med. bell pepper, chunked
1 c. all-purpose stir-fry sauce according to recipe
1 tsp. dark sesame oil
1 tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted
Cut steak into strips. Brown in oil over high heat in two batches, adding onion when both batches are returned to the wok or skillet. add chopped broccoli to pan right after onion. Add bell pepper while stir-frying the blanched broccoli.
Stir 1 cup of the stir-fry sauce with a fork or wire whisk and pour over beef and vegetables in wok or skillet, still set over high heat. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in sesame oil and sesame seeds. Serves 4.
