FRESH CUCUMBER SALAD 
4 med. cucumbers
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. white pepper
1/2 c. white wine vinegar
1/2 c. snipped fresh dill or 2 tbsp. dried dill weed

Cut cucumbers crosswise into 1/16 inch slices; place in bowl with tight-fitting lid. Mix sugar, salt and pepper; sprinkle over cucumbers. Cover. Shake to coat cucumbers. Pour vinegar over cucumbers; cover. Refrigerate at least 24 hours. Sprinkle with dill and toss before serving.
