DEEP DISH APPLE PIE WITH CRUMB TOPPING 
5 1/2 c. peeled and sliced winesap apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

TOPPING:

3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. butter

Combine filling ingredients and pour into prepared deep dish pastry crust.

Mix topping ingredients with a fork until crumbly. Place over filling ingredients. Bake for 50 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool thoroughly on wire rack. Serve at room temperature. Serves 8.
