SNOW - WHITE FROSTING 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Dash of salt
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine sugar, water, cream of tartar, and salt in a 2-cup glass measure. Cook on ROAST for 4 to 5 minutes, or until mixture boils. Beat egg whites in small bowl with electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually pour hot syrup over egg whites, beating all the time. Continue beating for about 5 minutes, or until frosting is thick and fluffy. Beat in vanilla.

NOTE: Makes enough frosting for two 9-inch layers.
