CHERRY - CREAM CHEESE - WALNUT DESSERT 
1 c. walnuts
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 egg
1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz.)
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 c. coconut
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Chop 1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely. Chop remaining nuts fine. Combine flour, brown sugar, and butter to fine crumbs. Add coconut and finely chopped walnuts and mix well. Set 1/2 cup aside. Pack remainder in bottom of a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Soften cream cheese and beat in granulated sugar, egg and vanilla. Spread over baked layer and bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread cherry pie filling over cheese layer. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts and 1/2 cup crumbs. Bake 15 minutes. Cool before cutting.
