Quick, easy and good.
1 can fruit pie mix (cherry, pineapple, etc.)
1/2 pkg. dry cake mix (yellow or white)
1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
1/2 c. salted almonds (optional)
Put fruit pie mix in buttered dish. Sprinkle 1/2 package dry cake mix over pie mix. Dribble melted butter over top. Sprinkle cut up salted almonds on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut in squares, and serve with whipped cream topping.
