TOURTIERE - FRENCH CANADIAN PORK PIE 
Brown 1 1/2 pound ground pork in a large pot along with:

1 med. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of salt
1/4 tsp. sage
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. savory
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/4 c. boiled water

Simmer uncovered for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. It will now be gray in color. Drain and cool. Skim off fat.

Put mixture into a pastry pie shell and cover with pastry, seal edges and cut vents for steam. Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown, about 40 minutes. Serve hot with gravy.
