1/3 c. chopped dates
1/3 c. chopped prunes
1/3 c. raisins
1/3 c. fruit bits
1 c. water
3/4 cube butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. black walnut flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1/3 c. chopped nuts

Place all of the fruit and the water in a saucepan and cook for 6 minutes. Remove from heat and add the butter. Let this stand until cool. Beat egg and flavorings, then add the flour and soda. Add chopped nuts and fruit mixture and blend well. Drop by teaspoonfuls and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. These do not keep well over 2-3 days unless kept in refrigerator or freezer.
