CALIFORNIA RAISIN SAUCE FOR HAM 
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. port wine or currant jelly
1/2 tsp. grated orange rind
1/3 c. orange juice
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tbsp. cornstarch
Dash of allspice

Rinse raisins. Add water, wine, rind, and juice. Bring to a boil. Blend sugar with cornstarch, salt, and allspice. Stir into orange mixture. Cook, stirring until clear. Makes 1 1/3 cups.
