CRANBERRY MERINGUE PIE 
1 3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
1 pound (4 cups) cranberries
4 eggs, separated
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons powdered sugar
Baked pie shell

Boil sugar and water for 5 minutes. Add cranberries. Cook until skins pop open. Beat egg yolks with flour and salt, pour cranberries over mixture.

Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add butter and vanilla. Cool. Fill pie shell, top with meringue of whipped egg whites and powdered sugar. Brown in slow oven, 325°F. for 15 minutes.
