TEXAS TURTLE CAKE 
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 bag (14 oz.) caramels (about 40 or so)
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. pecans, chopped

Mix cake mix according to directions. Pour 1/2 batter in 9 x 13 inch pan and bake for 15 minutes. Melt caramels, butter and milk together and pour on baked cake. Bake 10 minutes. Put chocolate chips and pecans on top. Pour the remaining batter over the chips and nuts. Bake 20 more minutes.
