BACON WRAPPED WATER CHESTNUTS 
2 cans water chestnuts
1 c. sugar
1 lb. bacon
1 c. ketchup

Wrap 1/2 piece of bacon around each water chestnut and secure with a toothpick. Put in 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Bake at 300 degrees F for one hour. While these are baking, make sauce: Combine sugar and ketchup in saucepan and heat on stove at medium temperature until sugar is dissolved.

Remove water chestnuts from oven and drain off fat. Pour sauce over the water chestnuts and return to oven. Bake another hour at 300 degrees. Remove from baking dish and serve hot.
