TWO CRUST FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE 
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
3 c. fresh strawberries (1 qt. plus 1 c.)
1 tbsp. butter
1 recipe plain pastry for 2 crust pie

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt together and add berries, mix. Line pie pan with pastry. (I use a deep dish foil pan or a regular 9-inch pie pan.) Add filling and dot with butter. Cover with top crust, seal with crimping effort, and cut air slits in middle of top crust brushing lightly with milk and dot with butter (not too much). Bake at 450 degrees in preheated oven, 10 minutes. Turn heat down to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes longer.

CRISCO CRUST RECIPE:

2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. Crisco
3 tbsp. ice water (more, if needed)

Mix Crisco, salt and flour until well blended. Add water, roll out and place in pie pan.
