TULBAND (LIGHT FRUIT CAKE) 
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. butter or lard
1 c. sweet milk
1/4 lb. citron
1 orange, grated rind and juice
1 tsp. vanilla or almond flavoring
2 tsp. baking powder
2 oz. chopped walnuts
2 eggs
1 c. small raisins
2 c. flour

Cream sugar and shortening. Add well beaten eggs. Add milk and sifted flour and baking powder gradually. Dredge fruit with flour and add to the cake mixture. Add flavoring. Mix well. Bake in tube pan in moderate oven for one hour. Dust with powdered sugar or serve plain.
