HUNGARIAN APPLE PASTRY 
PASTRY:

1/2 lb. butter
1/2 lb. cream cheese
2 c. unbleached flour

FILLING:

5 med. apples, peeled, cored & diced
2 1/4 oz. raisins
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. unseasoned bread crumbs (browned in 1/2 stick of butter)

Filling: Mix all ingredients for Filling.

Pastry: Cream butter and cream cheese together. Add 2 cups flour and knead gently until smooth. Refrigerate for at least 1/2 hour.

Divide pastry into 4 equal parts. Roll out dough on a cool surface and fill with 1/4 of Filling. Fold dough over and sprinkle with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of sugar mixed with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake in moderate oven (325 degrees) for 1/2 hour. Remove from oven and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar when cool.
