MERINGUE THAT WON'T WEEP 
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg whites
6 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook cornstarch, sugar and water until clear. Cool. Add salt to egg whites and whip until foamy and standing in peaks. Then add the sugar mixture and continue beating until creamy. Add vanilla and 6 tablespoons of sugar gradually beating until very creamy. Pile on pie and spread. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Be sure and seal edges of meringue to crust. It will prevent a layer of moisture from forming below meringue.
