3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/8 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 oz. pkg. mini chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Continue beating until slightly stiff peaks but still glossy. Add sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla and fold in chips and nuts.
Drop onto waxed paper lined cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees for 25-30 minutes. They should not brown. Store loosely covered in cool dry place. Approximately 24 cookies. They're yummy!
