1 eye of round roast (any size)
Completely coat roast on all sides and end with salt, pepper, garlic salt. Place roast on rack in broiler pan, uncovered. Preheat oven to 500 degrees (be sure oven is preheated). Take about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on ovens. Place roast in preheated oven and bake on 500 degrees (uncovered) 5 minutes per pound. If roast is over 4 pounds add about 5 extra minutes. After desired time, turn oven off, leaving roast in. Leave roast in oven until oven cools, 3 to 4 hours or longer. Remove from oven, place in airtight container. Chill overnight. Save wrapper from roast and return to grocery meat department. Ask meat department to shave roast from ends. Serve cold.
