COLONIAL POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
1 c. Crisco
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sweet milk
5 eggs

Cream Crisco, sugar and 5 eggs (one at a time), salt, milk, flour and vanilla. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees. Put aluminum foil over cake. Remove foil the last 15 minutes of baking.
