PERSIMMON CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
2 c. persimmon pulp
2 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. finely chopped dates
Grated rind from 1 orange
1 c. milk
4 c. sifted cake flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together sugar and butter. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Bake in 2 greased loaf pans or 4 small ones for 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees until tested for doneness.
