DUTCH OVEN CANDY 
1 lb. butter
1 lg. can evaporated milk
3/4 c. dark Karo
7 c. white sugar
3 c. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

In an oven-proof container combine all ingredients except nuts and vanilla. Bake at 275 degrees for 3 hours and 15 minutes without a lid. Stir in oven several times during cooking time. Cook to firm ball stage. Let cool 1 hour.

Beat with electric mixer for approximately 10 minutes. Add nuts and vanilla. Pour into buttered plate.
