BUTTER NUT SWEDISH COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp. cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg white
Candied cherries (cut in half)
1/2 c. chopped pecans plus nuts for dipping cookie

Cream butter and add the sugar. Add the egg yolk, cream and vanilla; mix well. Add the sifted flour with baking powder. Mix well. Add the chopped nuts. Form dough into small balls the size of a walnut and dip in egg white, then chopped pecans.

Using little finger, make small depression in center of cookie, after they have been placed on an ungreased cookie sheet. Place 1/2 candied cherry in center of cookie; cut side down. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. About 5 dozen cookies.
